Midnight Hour

This is an old piece that I created over a decade ago, then submitted in 2009 in a framed, substantially smaller version. It's one of several works that I've been wanting to revive in a larger, frameless format. Originally, my thoughts behind its conception were that even in your seeming darkest hours of loneliness, despair not for true love will eventually shine on you.

It's been many years since and I'm still awaiting. *snicker* Perhaps rightfully so. As George Bernard Shaw once said, “Youth is wasted on the young.” I feel that goes exponentially for me, for in my younger years I knew love. I'm convinced that I had more chances than most to revere and possibly make something lifelong wonderful of it. Instead, I chose to slight, thinking there would always be more on my horizon. There's no way of knowing what would've happened had I treated love more fairly. And yet, to me, those considerable forks in the road remain one of the greatest things. No matter how old one becomes they keep life fresh—the grandest adventure waiting to be discovered. It's something to think about, you know?
